Not necessarily. If you plan on getting false nails then your natural nails don't have to be long, but if you do use your own nails and they're really short then you might not be able to get a manicure. Even though this may be a factor, manicurist try to find ways to make it work and even if you can't get the manicure you can always get your nails polished with a little design.

no. a manicure doesnt have to mean the whole filing, buffing, and nailpolishing. you can just have done whatever you need. short nails can even get french tipped, which makes them appear longer.
