First time manicure?

I was think about getting my nails done for my birthday coming up. I've never gotten a manicure before so I don't know what to expect. Does it hurt because some people say it does some say it doesn't. Like getting acrylics. What is the process for that?First time manicure?
Getting acrylics hurts a little bit sometimes. They may tend to file down your nail a lot, and they may end up cutting your cuticles with the tool or filing down too deep into the nail so your underlying skin is exposed. That's pretty much the only part that hurt me. Generally, they glue tips onto your nails, cut the tips and file them down, then they cover your whole nail with the acrylic and file them and shape them. Then they get painted.

If you remove them yourself it might hurt a little too because those suckers are on strong. Your nails will look really rough and probably have ridges in them once you remove them also.First time manicure?
It doesnt hurt. It actually feels good I think when there like scrubbing ur nails. You should get clear gels, if you tell them there no what you mean. Its where they put white tips on ur nails and then make them all shiny. You can even get airbrushed on them. What they do is like thin ur nail out by using an electric file, you cant feel it at all though, and then glue the tips on and then layer it with the clear gel, dry it and then file them down to the right length. It takes about a half an hour to get done. But its painless. The only thing that may cause you alittle discomfort is when they put the tips on and begin to file down because ur not used to having the tips on yet so there still sensitive.
I love getting manicures! It doesn't hurt at all. It always makes me feel pampered and pretty! It's your birthday and what better way to do something special for yourself? Do it! You will definitely be happy that you did! A Very Happy Birthday to you!
It does not hurt. They will get your natural nails ready, put the acrylic on top and then shape/file them to look natural. Then the salonist will paint them how you want, a french manicure is always cute. Getting a manicure is great, may be a little discomfort when the manicurist messes with the cuticles, but nothing really bad. You will love the results.
I use to be a nail tech.

It shouldn't hurt to get a manicure.

I think it would be good if you ask maybe some of your friends where you live what nail shops are good to get your nails done at.

This is the procedure for a manicure:

1. First the manicurist will take off your nail polish if you have any on.

2.Then she'll shape your nails with a nail filer.

3. Then she'll buff your nails with a nail buffer.

4. Then she'll ask you to soak your hand and nails in a finger bowl. ( the bowl has warm soapy water in it.)

She will repeat steps 1-4 on your other hand .

5. Then she take the your hand that was in the finger bowl and dry your hand and your nails off.

6. Then she'll apply cuticle solvent around the cuitcle of your right hand. (the cuticle is the toughened skin around the base of the finger nails and toe nails.)

7.Next she'll use the cuticle pusher and loosen the cuticle. And then she'll clean underneath your finger nails,to remove any dirt or debris under your nail.

8.And if it is necessary, she'll trim your dead cuticles with the cuticle nippers.

9.Then she'll remove your left hand from the finger bowl and repeat steps 5-8 on left hand.

10.then she'll get your right hand and stick it into the finger bowl and use a little brush to remove any dead cuticles off your fingernails.

11. On right hand she'll dry off you hand and nails with a towel and then get some fingernail polish and rub it on your nails. Then she'll apply 1 layer of base coat on your nails.

12. Then she will get left hand out of the finger bowl and dry off your hand and nails. And she'll repeat steps 10-11 on that hand .

13. On right hand she will paint on 2 layers of finger nail polish on your nails. ( color of your choice.)

14. She'll get left hand and repeat step 13.

15. On right hand she will paint on 1 layer of top coat on your nails, and then let them dry.

16. On left hand she'll paint on 1 layer of top coat on, then you let your nails dry. And your done.
